Sailor introduced a new BESPOKE Pen, the "CHINKIN BUMBLEBEE" Fountain Pen. The theme is a Bumblebee. The design is accomplished using the Chinkin process. A technique accomplished by chisel etching the design pattern onto the surface and later inlaid with gold leaves and powder. A meticulous process perfected only by experienced craftsmen. It is KOP size made of Ebonite.
Bumblebees have existed on our planet for more than 30 million years. Native to higher altitudes of the Northern hemisphere, they are a crucial pollinator of crops and flowers. Bumblebee has a very special meaning in Japan; Pronounced Maruhanabachi in Japanese regarding bumblebee is a symbol of courage, persistence, good luck, teamwork, communication, and focused productivity.

Sailor has made a new design for their nibs. The pens which are produced from January 2022 onwards will have the new-design nib. The difference between the old nib and the new nib:
- New nib does not have '1911' engraved on it
- New design of the anchor
- New design of the "SAILOR" engraving below the anchor
- The 'H' letter (abbreviation of 'Hard') is removed from the nib size indicator on the left side of the new nib
Depending on the availability of our stock, you may receive the old Sailor nib design or the new Sailor nib.
