Victor Marie Hugo (1802 – 1885), was a French novelist, poet and dramatist of the Romantic movement. He is considered to be one of the greatest and best-known French writers. He is best known for his works Les Misérables (1862) and Notre Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame) (1831).
Although best known for his novels, Victor Hugo also produced numerous pieces of Poetry such as Les Contemplations (The Contemplations) and La Légende des siècles (The Legend of the Ages), and also made more than 4,000 drawings in his lifetime.
